EMH Foundation reaches $2 million in assets

At the Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation's Jan. 14 meeting, Foundation Chair Lee Vaughn shared exciting news to the Board. He reported the assets of the Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation had reached $2 million, saying, "This is a huge milestone for the Foundation and Elbert Memorial Hospital."

 

The Foundation was created in 1995 to support the health care needs of Elbert County. Since 2007, the Foundation has contributed over $1,052,296 to the Hospital to fund health related items for the community, equipment purchases, facility renovations/improvements, etc. In 2003 the Foundation established a Planned Giving Program. Today, the Foundation has The Founders' Endowment and 24 named endowments with a current balance of $1,314,087.64 which continues to "work" raising additional funds to be used to support healthcare services in Elbert County.

 

Hospital CEO Jim Yarborough said, "Congratulations to the EMH Foundation "Founders," all past and current Board Members, donors, volunteers, etc. that have made reaching this $2 Million milestone possible."

 

Hospital CEO expressed a special thanks and congratulations to Nancy Seymour, who has been the Foundation Executive Director for the last 15 years working extremely hard through all the years of fundraising to make reaching this milestone possible. He thanked the Foundation Board for all the hard work that they were doing to support the hospital. He said, "I firmly believe that without Foundation that the Hospital would not be open today. Congratulations and THANK YOU!"

 

Following the announcement, Nancy Seymour was presented with two yellow roses and a cake to congratulate her on a job well done upon reaching the $2 million mark in total assets.
